Welcome to RMIT Hackathon 2026!

We are thrilled to announce the 2026 RMIT Hackathon, to be held in October 2026!

This year's hackathon brings together three critical themes: Security, Generative AI, and Low-Resource Languages. Teams will tackle the real-world problem of GenAI inaccuracies in low-resource languages — building solutions that improve the reliability, safety, and inclusivity of AI systems for underserved language communities.

Throughout the hackathon, you'll have the opportunity to receive mentorship from industry and university experts, learn new skills, and solve real-world problems. As you embark on this journey, you'll be contributing to more inclusive and trustworthy AI systems that serve all language communities equitably.
